The Six Habits of Highly Productive Real Estate Agents
It’s a miracle real estate agents are productive at all with so many distractions. It’s a never-ending journey to become a highly productive real estate agent. You can reach your full potential by developing habits that yield consistent outcomes.
Time management has always been difficult for some agents. How do you stay productive between phone conversations with potential clients, drafting contracts, listing presentations, prospecting calls, and buyer consultations?
Keep yourself focused, alert, and on track with these tidbits for top productivity:
1. Get Rid of Distractions
Although this is a no-brainer, most agents still fail to do so. Remove all potential sources of distraction! If you let it, your day may rapidly get away from you between social media, phone calls, checking email, and watercooler discussion with other agents and staff. Disconnect from all sources of distraction, including social media, and keep focused on the task at hand.
Allow no time for a browse through Instagram or TikTok, or get caught up in a conversation with an overly pleasant receptionist ready to tell you about her weekend. Cut yourself off from any outside distractions, bury your head in your job, and get to work on your to-do list.
2. Concentrate On Important Tasks
The first half of your day should be devoted to critical money-making activities such as prospecting (cold calling, follow-up calls, client calls). Why waste time on tasks that don’t pay off when you could be working on those that deliver results?
The key is to block out time on your calendar and then write down everything you’ll need to complete that assignment. Complete it all in the time allotted to you, with no interruptions or diversions. If that’s what you need to do, close and lock your office door and put a big message on the outside that says “NO INTERRUPTIONS.”
3. Use Positive Affirmations
Don’t shake your head in disbelief. Affirmations that are positive actually work! The most successful agents use affirmations on a daily basis. By repeating a few constructive, uplifting words, a positive affirmation can turn around a bad mindset.
What is the best way to employ positive affirmations? The present tense should be used for all affirmations. “I close deals effortlessly” for example. You’re talking about something that’s happening right now, not in the past or in the future. Choose a time of day that is most convenient for you, and then read them aloud every day.
4. Step Outside Of Your Comfort Zone
Don’t be afraid to attempt something new, even if you’re a little nervous about it. Taking a risk and stepping outside of your comfort zone can lead to great growth chances you never imagined.
5. Have a Morning Routine
Every competent agent has a morning ritual when it comes to being successful in real estate. The structure should continue throughout the rest of your day, and you should plan your time as efficiently as feasible.
6. Communicate as Quickly as Possible
The most successful agents promptly return phone calls and emails. This goes for clients, prospective clients, other real estate agents, and anyone related to your business.
They swiftly follow up after receiving leads, answering any and all queries that a potential client may have. They make their customers their top priority by remaining in touch with them during and after the transaction.
