3 Reasons You Need To Start Using Video Marketing
You’ve probably heard the buzz around video marketing. You may even start to see it appearing on your newsfeed. Before you watch your competitor beat you to the punch, give video marketing a shot.
To help convince you, we are going to walk through three reasons you should be implementing video content and how to do so efficiently.
1) Video content is a creative brand promotion tool.
A lot of agents struggle to define their personal brand. Knowing who you are and what you bring to the table is essential in this field. You need to know what sets you apart from all the other agents and what you can offer potential clients.
Your brand is your central message. Once you know what this message is, coming up with what you want to talk about and where to get started with video becomes a lot easier.
When considering your brand, think about who you want as clients, think about what kind of agent you are, and think about how you talk to people.
Here are some questions to consider:
- How do you want to come across? Polite? Professional? Friendly? Casual?
- How formal do you want to be?
- What are three descriptors of your brand?
Honestly, your brand is not going to be a perfect fit for everyone and that is okay! What you need to figure out is how you naturally relate to a defined audience. Don’t overthink it too much.
If you are a parent and that’s the most important thing to you, lead with that. Parents will relate and trust that you understand their priorities. If you are a bachelor, highlight your lifestyle. Show that you know niche parts of your community like the best gym, bar, or coffee shops. People will want to work with you to integrate into that lifestyle.
2) Video marketing can be easy to implement with a little planning.
A common objection to any new marketing technique is the time it will cost. You want to know that you are going to get a return on your investment. Listen, video is a commitment, but it will draw attention to your brand. People will see and REMEMBER creative, relatable video content. When it comes time to sell, you will be top of mind.
The key to success with video marketing is consistency. Honestly, that’s the key to most avenues of marketing. You need to keep showing up everywhere people look. You want them to see your signs on the street, your listings on the internet, and your videos on their social media feed. This will allow your brand to slowly imprint on new audiences.
The difference with video is that you don’t need flier mailboxes once a month for a year to communicate who you are. You can do that in a video in a few seconds. Connecting your personality to your name makes you real in a way that print advertising can’t.
Build name recognition by creating a strong personal brand through video marketing.
You can build this recognition by setting a video publication schedule and sticking to it. Implement something that works for you, whether that is one video a month or one a week. Make it a habit and you will see the results in your expanding client list.
3) Perfect content doesn’t exist, so stop worrying about it.
Standing in front of a camera can be intimidating. Rather than avoiding a very effective marketing tool because you are worried about being boring, or your appearance, or because you don’t know what to say, just accept that your content won’t be perfect.
Be human. THAT is what makes great video content! You want to connect with people on a human level and you can’t do that through perfection. You connect by being yourself. Tell a story. Talk about what is important to you. Talk about what you love.
