How Forgiveness Can Help Create Quantum Growth in Your Business and Your Life
“Please forgive me.” “I forgive you.”
As busy real estate agents, business leaders and entrepreneurs, those are two of the hardest 3-word sentences for us to utter.
When someone does us wrong, our natural inclination is to keep a record of their wrong, to retaliate, to demand recompense and to hold on to a grudge.
But as Lab Coat Agents and Master Entrepreneurs, the smart thing to do is to FORGIVE.
Here, I’d like to share three reasons why forgiveness is essential for the success of your business (and your life).
Harbored Resentment Will Stunt the Growth of Your Business
You’ve already seen and heard study after study on the benefits of forgiveness, but are you paying heed?
I teach my coaching clients that in order to remain unfettered, forgiveness as a “practice” is essential.
Harboring feelings of hatred, anger or resentment will stunt your growth as an individual, which will most certainly stunt your growth as a business and thwart your ultimate success.
Don’t try and pretend that your business is a separate entity.
It may be that way on paper, but in reality, you are your business and your business is you. Whatever you are going through will manifest itself in your business.
Sure, you may be growing financially, but what about the other 14 life areas of Abundance?
You can rest assured that harbored unforgiveness will surely have a negative impact on and stifle many areas of abundance in your life and your relationships.
Harbored unforgiveness works in the same way “cancer” works. As the buildup of acids (negative harbored thoughts toward another) continue unmitigated, they fester and grow. Over time they become more stagnated, putrid and vile. Soon healthy vibrant cells and tissues are replaced with those which are weak, corrupt and dying. Left unchecked, a grotesque mutation takes over and consumes its host.
When you forgive, you essentially free yourself and give yourself a chance to heal.
The truth is you will have many “wrongs” done to you over your lifetime.
You have been wronged in the past and you will be wronged again.
You must come to expect that this is part and parcel to the righteous path you are on, and necessary for your growth in this realm. It’s all part of the game.
When you are climbing to the top of the Success Ladder in the real estate game, you will attract many vultures and haters. That’s just par for the course.
You must learn to avoid those with negative energy (to the best of your ability) but don’t let them slow your roll or poison your well.
Forgive those who have done you wrong so that you and your business can continue to grow unfettered.
Forgiveness Sets YOU Free
When you forgive, you set yourself free.
When you hold on to the feelings of bitterness and resentment, you are simply damaging (and condemning) yourself.
Think about it, when you harbor bitterness and resentment for others, where is that bitterness and resentment stored?
Inside of YOU.
Would you ever imagine storing something rotten inside yourself?
When you don’t forgive others, that’s exactly what you are doing.
Imagine a piece of rotten meat were placed in a container. Now imagine that container was stored in your attic for a week or two.
What would you expect to find when you retrieved it?
Think of your heart, your mind, your spirit, and your body as the container.
You wouldn’t want to store anything rotten there. The best thing to do is to throw it out and clean out the container.
Forgiveness is one of the primary ways you keep your mind, body, heart and soul clean.
Forgiveness clears the Line Between You and Your Abundance
The truth is we’ve all been forgiven. In the same way God has forgiven us, He expects is to forgive others.
Jesus said, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
Human Beings are hard-wired to forgive.
Forgiveness is our God-state.
When we don’t forgive, we are walking outside of our true destiny and purpose, and we are not attracting the abundance that we desire.
When we don’t forgive, we are damming up the flow of good things to ourselves.
The fact that we were designed to forgive is obvious to anyone with a scientific brain.
Just read the countless health studies done on those who harbor unforgiveness and those who do not.
It is obvious that human beings are incapable of holding onto unforgiveness without this attachment causing immense damage to the various areas of our being and our abundance.
We must learn to completely detach from the event and realize that the person who wronged “us” is to be most pitied.
People who wrong us are typically living in lack and have not tapped into the fount of abundance.
Bless them, wish them peace and move on.
Remember that it is not YOU that they are hurting – but themselves.
Don’t let the old ego rob you of your joy and your destiny.
For every wound that we inflict on another we have inflicted a dozen on ourselves.
Leave the wrong with the Creator and move on. He will take care of it.
“Please forgive me. I forgive you.”
As master entrepreneurs and business owners, and Lab Coat Agents, the smart thing to do is to forgive those who have done us wrong so that we can move on into our Divine Destiny.
Don’t let the chains of unforgiveness hold you back from being all that you are meant to be.
