7 Netflix Shows That Real Estate Agents Should Be Watching
Okay…real estate agents really don’t have the time to be sitting around watching TV all day. But, even the most disciplined people can’t resist a little Netflix once in a while. And, for real estate agents who want something to pique their interest, Netflix has something special for you, too.
1) The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes
On this Netflix show “The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes,” hosts Piers and Caroline take viewers on a journey to the homes most people would be lucky enough to find in an artsy coffee table book. Real estate agents will appreciate the incredible homes designed by world-renowned architects. Seriously…your mouth will water seeing how these homes were built in some of the most remote locations around the world.
2) Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things
These days, people buy homes for all different reasons. Nowadays, it’s out with the old, in with the hipsters who don’t need a lot of stuff to make them happy. Starring Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus, this inspirational documentary is a nice reminder of what people are really looking to create for their families when buying a home. And, if anything, it’s a reminder for real estate agents to be selling the lifestyle, too, not just the home itself.
3) How Safe is Your House?
Real estate agents want to make sure that the homes they are helping to buy or sell are safe. Yet, issues that need repair that aren’t immediately life-threatening can help agents negotiate a good deal, too. Homes always come with a lot of issues, and it can be scary to see all the potential hazards that are out there, especially when most of them come as a surprise. “How Safe is Your House” is a British documentary series that explores common household hazards and how they can be prevented.
4) Funny or Die Presents: Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal: The Movie
This movie is a satirical spin-off based on Donald Trump’s book, The Art of the Deal. No matter how you feel about the guy, this ridiculous movie will give you a good laugh about how the President’s “tricks” made him very wealthy off of real estate. For those who want a more serious assessment of how his deals went down, then check out “Dirty Money” which is also on Netflix.
5) 72 Dangerous Places to Live
Some agents have a rougher job than others, depending on where they are trying to do their business. One of the biggest things people consider when buying a home is the safety of the area, whether that’s referring to crime or natural disasters. Though this show focuses on areas all over the world, it’s interesting to see what drives people to live where they live and how agents can hone in on that, despite evident risks.
6) Love Your Garden
Making a garden can be just as difficult as making a home, and while some people tend to neglect their gardens, others can’t wait to get theirs started. Of course, a garden is also the first thing people will notice when shopping for a new home, so making it look nice is important. “Love Your Garden” is a heartwarming show where host Alan Titchmarsh goes around Britain giving people the garden — or, the yard — of their dreams.
7) Property Brothers
We know, we know…this show is old school. But, these twins have been a favorite for years on HGTV, enough to bring them back to Netflix. As a real estate agent, it’s so much fun to watch this show and see what kind of deal Drew can snag on the homes, and what kind of surprises Jonathan will find as the contractor. The show is a bit repetitive, but real estate agents can test what they know, making guesses on what will happen in the following scene.
